Re: Laudino Head studies

I guess it's a mystery. Another possibility is it's unimproved recessive red poorly covering spread. I have seen unimproved recessive red where there is less red in the bird than the base color. Of course that's an extreme example. A better example would be my little Pica squeeker. It has a red body with a blue colored tail and a distinct tail bar.

I have a rec. red laudino with two black feathers as well. Here is my other thought. If that color is rec. red with alot of undergrizzle, wouldnt you also see alot of non reds with the same undergrizzle? I have asked someone about that color and all I could get from them is "it is very important to have one in your loft". But no one shows this color and since it shows white it would be a fault in the standard. Very mysterious.

I have Undergrizzle in all my other colors, with the possible exception of the Blacks. I don't know why it would be needed except it enhances Bronze-like phenotypes. Maybe that enhances the bronze-like chests in some smokys? I don't know.

I got him home right away. He is inside in my fish room in a cage. He looks healthy. I don't want to put him outside in the heat yet. Its too hot here for man or beast.
