Re: More pics
These are my very crossbred flying pouters. all of the birds (except for the white and the blue checker laudino in the third pic )are decendants from this thief pouter....
he came from a great Cuban fellow in Miami. The two pouters in the top pic are the fifth generation from him. As you can see his genetics most be strong.
more of cabitos offspring
the black one
They are all strong fliers who blow their crops nicely. I hope to make some boxes soon to start flying them solo with steam, but I seem to find other things to do instead of building boxes lol.

Re: More pics
To give you all an idea the top two birds are part rafeno, gaditano, marchenero, laudino, jiennenses, pica, homer and a tiny dash of brunner and catalonian tumbler.

Re: More pics
Hi Matt,
The head on that Black w/f (Cabito?) looks like the Valenciano. Have you put him to a Laudino? Nice birds, all of them.

Re: More pics
Yes Graeme, I paired cabito up to this laudino...
I used her since she wasnt smokey and she is a bit to thin in the beak for my liking.
This was the result...
They both have nice crops on the ground and in flight. The blue checker flies similar to a jiennenses. But when in pursuit of a hen you get this....

Re: More pics
Wow! I wish I had a non-smoky Laudino. Smoky muddled up (pardon the pun) my Indigo Laudino project. I am ready to scrap it and go for Reduced instead.

Re: More pics
Very nice, is the black one a hen? I would be very tempted to pair a daughter back to him, try for a few more with the same style of head, I like his head.

Re: More pics
Graeme, I like cabitos head as well. I very much like the excessive eye ceres. I have given serious thought to crossing a spanish barb into him and his offspring to encourage this trait.
Alan, I currently have an 2007 male dark t-pattern checker, a late 2008 blue check hen and a 2009 blue checker squeaker. I paired him up to my out of imports hen to get all of my offspring but one. The old male is very course in the wattles and they are assymetrical but since I paired him to the much finer hen the offspring seem quite nice. Daniel H. has bred from an assymetrical wattled laudino with no ill affects....I'll trade one for a black one....
