What are the best feeders?
So I am wondering what everyone here thinks is the best breed to have as feeders? I have homers and two pair of rollers that I am using as feeders and I've had mixed results?some seem great others seem to lose interest once the babies are at about 6 days old.saludos... LuisMorales

Re: What are the best feeders?
I use a lot of different breeds for Fosters, Oriental Rollers, Rollers, Damascenes, Horseman, Picas, Homers etc. I like Homers... problem with Rollers is they have a hard time feeding the larger Spanish Pouter breeds. They even have trouble at times with Gaditanos. The problem with Homers is they can be flighty. Show Type Racing Homers are nice because they are a little larger than normal Homers and a lot calmer on the nest. And they are real beautiful birds. If I had to choose one breed, I would say Show Type Racing Homers.

Re: What are the best feeders?
I swear by my Mookies. They set tight, cover the babies till the babies push them off. They feed anything that begs and I've never had a Mookie scalp anything. They're not a big bird but have been able to feed much larger breeds.

I like homers. Of course I have them. I don't have Mookees, but have heard they are the Cochin hen of pigeon breeds.
