Canario cropper

Hello ,
Do you know the Canario cropper?
In the last two years they got very popular in Europe. Especially the Dutch like them very much and at their club do they have the biggest quantity of all Spanish pouters. In Germany also the breeders getting more and more and this year we like to legalize the standard for Germany.

Do you also have Canarios in America?
Attached are some pictures of my pigeons.
Regards

Nice pictures, thanks!

I do know there are some in Canada, but from what I have been told there may not be any in the US.

hi buchoncanario, thanks for pics, like the type on the black with the grizzle neck and face, are you sure the dutch club has lots of canarios, or are you confusing dutch valencianas with canarios, though i know there are more canarios showing up in the til sport in holland. i had some blues about 12 years ago, but my old pics are not digital, also have a near pure cоck i have flown for a few years, will try and get a pic of him up soon, allways liked them, glad to see they are on the move. vic

Re: Canario cropper

Hello VIC,
the black with the grizzle neck and face is an original one from the Netherlands. I imported 2009 some from the Canarias island and I exchanged some with my Dutch friend.

No, the Canarios were the biggest group in the last two years at the SIS show (Spanish club). The “Dutch Valencianas” getting very less and also the quality is not as good as 10 years ago.
At the SIS show 2008 were approximately 160 Canarios and 2009 roundabout 200, I guess.
You are totally right the Canarios started their way in the tilt sport caused of their habit and the nice way of flying. I think this is the reason why they are so popular in the Netherland now.
Also a few Germans used them at the beginning as dropper for the high flying tumblers. But they are having such a lovely habit and every time in action.

Hope to see your picture soon.

Hi BuchonCanario -
I really like your croppers, beautiful little birds. There were Canarios in America during the ninties. They were sent from Canada to Miami. I don't know what became of them. The newest breeds of spanish pouters we have in America now are the Balear, the Morrillero and Moroncello. There have been some recent importations of these three breeds as well as the Laudino, Jiennense and Granadino. There is said to be a few Paloma de Clase around, although I have never seen them.
