NPA bands
Looking at the band order form for the NPA it states, size 8 for "all Spanish Pouter breeds". I believe that is an error and should be changed. Laudinos, Jiennense, Granadinos, Gorguero and the large breeds should be banded with a #9 band. The smaller breeds such as Gaditano, Marchenero, Deportivo, Rafeno etc do fine with a size 8. I have had to cut a couple of size 8 bands off some Laudinos before they lost a leg. They are way too small.
Agreed?

Re: NPA bands
noticed that too
i plan on using the npa bands myself
this yesr for the same reaon the plexiglass bands are nice
but they are to hard to cut
the no 9 bands that are plastic(npa)
are nice but they tend to be a little big on some of the birds
wish they made an 8 1/2

Re: NPA bands
I put in an order back in september for 2010 bands and the following week they sent me some 09's. Suprised, because it usually takes 2months. I sent an email and sent the bands back. He says it was an error on his part. So, I am just waiting for 2010 bands now. When do they come in? End of Dec. Or Jan? I just want a time frame for those of you who get them all the time at the beginnig of the year. I didn't want the NPA to "forget" about me. You know what I'm saying.

Re: NPA bands
I always use size 9 for my Spanish pouters. The size 8 is fine for the smaller breeds like Marchenero and Rafeno. Many times I have gotten birds as large as Granadino from other breeders with plexiglas Homer bands on them. The birds are to large for those small bands and they are very hard to cut off. Use size 9.

Re: NPA bands
I've had some real bloody messes cutting off those Plexiglas size 8 Homer bands from Laudinos. To make it worse, most breeders put a band on each leg, one club band and one personalized band. If you do that, my suggestion would be to use the bands from Spain. He offers them in three different sizes, I believe they are 8, 8.5 and 9. Use the largest size for the larger breeds.
