Does anyone know about this breed of "thief pigeon"?

As far as I can gather it's the original Modena from Italy before the English did to them what they did.

Great video Alan, thanks, they were flown in kits, in a similar manner to the swifts in Egypt, and the flights in New York. Steve Bodio writes about them in 'Aloft'. You might find more info at the Italian Federation site: http://www.fi-ac.it/

Nice birds, they remind me of a pair I had back in the 1970's that were jet black, small and could fly really good, true Modena's. Were is the video from? Armando.
