How many picas do you all raise per year? For the pica enthusiasts.

Re: hey hey

I have been using my Picas as Fosters this year, so I haven't bred any.

I haven't been doing much of anything except breeding and training the young cocks to chase the hen.

Re: hey hey

It mostly depends on how much time I have. Maybe whether I get to the nests and addle the eggs or not. Last year I only raised 4- two cocks and two hens. The cocks are very hot. The hens are producing very nice babies so far this year.
I have enough of them most times and little or no time to put into training them properly.
This year is going to be different !!

Re: hey hey

how do you guys dye the dark colored picas in order to paint them the "correct" color. I hear some use hair bleach or peroxide to turn it bright yellow.

has anyone tried that? and does it work?
