Re: My laudino Breeders-American standard bred and Spanish standard bred

Genealogy: It has his genetic origin in the turn out to cross the Valencian Laudino a certain Rafeño highly influenced by the Gorguero and something of old Marchenero (both buchones). Of that one initial hibridization, on years 1,939/40, certain aesthetic characters modified and eliminated others of condition or behavior, obtaining therefore a prototype different from the result that, in principle, contributed the races integrate that it. Already, with the due selective fixation, the Buchón Sevillan Laudino is born in Seville.

Semblanza: Palomo Buchón, of crop cleared in the form of pear and silky and spongy pen; medium size and of great harmony of proportions; light of weight; legs medians and of strong constitution. Its head, constitutes one of its main aesthetic determinants; smoothness of curved lines; developed carúnculas nasal; medium and heavy tip and eyes bivouacs of flat and slightly extensive trimming of straw-coloured color preferably.

Temperament: Agile, dynamic, highly temperamental and with great attachment to its territory. Their pressing dowries of seduction, their cooing of serious tonality, its honey-coloured behavior with the female and the particular faculty for the flight, carrying out distances in emparejamiento search, do ideal to him for the “release in fervor” (time in flight without female) for whose aim it is destined and it selected. It has to take care of itself, then, of his moderate athletic constitution and its dulzura with the female, without for that reason it loses nothing of his characteristics. All these particularitities have to value themselves in contest of scope closed, according to the understanding of the specialized judges of the race that regulates the present standard.

STANDARD General aspect: In this section Integra the score by joint proportions or harmonic vision; the signs of nobility or hidden determinants of the race and all the wished qualities of the first races they formed that it. The wished proportions are: length of 23 to 28 centimeters, measurement to take from the previous end of the keel to the end of the tail; width of the chest, the most approximated in the middle of the length and the weight, between 410 and 460 grams. On guard static, the neck must be raised, slim. Head, line that forms its surroundings: Rigorously it uniforms and smooth the curvature or silhouette of his head; without the slightest promontory nor crack in all their trajectory from the end of the tip to the nape of the neck, accentuated in both extreme; mediation of the tip and shortly before the nape of the neck. This harmony of line, will only be interrupted temporarily, by the place that occupies carúnculas nasal; doing without these imaginatively, it has to be observed that head and tip separately, follow the same line oval. One says that the head of a Sevillan Laudino, “is almendrada” by the similarity of its silhouette with the one of a curved almond on the other hand more, or than “it is acarnerada” by the similarity with the sheep forehead. The pen, must short, smooth and be well seated.

Carúnculas nasal: They must be abundant, with uniformity between both and the minimum of rugosidad; abiertas by the high part, next to the forehead; in diminution towards the comisura of the tip, in line oval; floods, filled and given off upwards: similar to an equilateral triangle, cleared by its angles and something by its faces. Views frontally, with the tip like first plane, carúnculas nasal, must partially cover the frontal of the head, with a uniform distribution.

Warts: The warts, are membranes fleshy and cleared, similar in nasal colorful composition and to carúnculas, located in the part inferior of the tip. Like ideal, it must have three vetches more as large as soaked and enlarged the one of the center, isolated to each other, delimiting the contour of each although they are together. It can have a single, the one of the center, that would be to be heavier or the two lateral ones, scoring by this order. The warts, together with carúnculas nasal in circle, are tempting that form the appearance of “a twisted roll” species that, like aesthetic factor, favors the set of the head.

Tip: Medium and heavy, in the form of pinion; the jaw superior, superficially, must have its own curvature, more worsened than the one of the head, but following from its back part, the same drawn up or harmony of line with the rest of the head; in the jaw inferior, the curvature upwards, is slighter; both jaws, must be perfectly fitted to each other and without lateral deviations; if the superior escapes to the inferior, it will only be permissible minim dimension, on 2 m/m. of the coating of the tip; the coloration, goes closely related to the own pigmentation or plumage, being desirable, whenever possible, the clear tonalities, like bone, horn… if by other parts of the body, it does not present/display albinism symptoms.

Eyes: The eyes, must be beautiful extensive; to be located more near the lip sore than of the nape of the neck and immediately upon supposed a straight lip sore - nape of the neck or even touching it; neither excellent nor sunk with respect to the face and its color, in agreement with the one of the plumage but of strong coloration, denoting the fogosidad of the animal and without spots in him by melánico imbalance.

Border of the eye: The membranes that surround the eyes, must be an extensive trimming, located in the same plane of altitude that the eye and the face and of pale yellow color with preference or, also white like carúncula nasal or according to the plumage, scoring by this order. In any case, it does not have to be fleshy or bulky not to make him lose inner roundness nor the volume of the eye.

Crop: Been bulky, cleared and moderately hanging, taking as it bases the keel, in the form of pear; of silky and spongy pen; with the lateral ends it must cover the forearms to him with the wings and to even exceed them; the litmus of the crop, has to arrive to him until end than in himself it is crop, until the keel. Starting off of the low part of the tip and furrowing all the frontal of the crop… he is desirable that it has folds vertical that, where appropriate, pretends cracked being, one denominates “cracked crop” and it is a quality very considered.

Wings: They have to arrive to him until the end of the tail, located over this one; it must replace with firmness, after to have stretched it; extremely the one is considered that has eleven primary pens. Packsaddle, tail and legs: The packsaddle, is to be wide, whenever its excess, not of reason to that it hollows the tail, permissible this fall of tail only in minimum proportion. The tail, must be flat median and in the hand to pretend it. The legs, must be medians and with strength aspect (9 are used curtains ring of m/m.), the nails, also must be medians.

Colors of pen: All the colors are admitted, scoring except which they have put in white pens by melánico imbalance.

DEFECTS: Small, offed-hook or cleared crop; Size or out of proportion Weight; Lacking head of the bent overtone demanded; Carúnculas Nasal little or unequal; Fine tip, in the form of striker pin, substitute with excess the part superior in the form of sparrowhawk, that the jaw inferior is inclined downwards resembling to a banana; Border of the fleshy Eye; Pen badly constituted, defective or bad taken care of; Hanging wings (aleto), not to arrive to him until the end of the tail; Tail fallen or hollowed with excess or something raised by the sides. To mistreat the female. And, generally they are defects, all whatever goes against the described properties of the race, having more tolerance, the small imbalances between the characteristics of the races integrate that it, that the strange influences to these races.

OBSERVATIONS: The optimal forms and proportions to that the present standard talks about, have to consider in fullness of development, fulfilled the third cycle of dumb, to both year and a half approximately. In the females, generally, their characteristics less are worsened.

Re: My laudino Breeders-American standard bred and Spanish standard bred

Above is a babelfish translated (not that good) spanish standard. Even in its rough form it says "All the colors are admitted" And the beak(tip) says "of the coating of the tip; the coloration, goes closely related to the own pigmentation or plumage, being desirable, whenever possible, the clear tonalities, like bone, horn…
These two points alone show faults in the US version. I am find it strange that the US one says Translated from the Spanish standard. The correct thing would be to say derived from, or something else.

Your not kidding. This thing includes measurements, weights etc. I am sure Frank Barrachina did alot of good things for the spanish pouter hobby in AMerica but translating the Laudino standard is not one of those.

Well, I think if more Spanish Pouter fanciers would join the NPCC and demand a better standard they would do it. But not many join, so the club doesn't cater to them as much as they do the Continental breeds. I dare not say more, last time I did I about got my head taken off. emoticon

I tried to talk with an officer (although it might have been the CCPC)about some laudino questions and I was told I might as well raise commies. I still wish there was a Spanish pouter breeds club but since there is a language gap it would be very difficult to get interest.

Re: My laudino Breeders-American standard bred and Spanish standard bred

According to Frank B., the NPCC has tried to do a lot for the Spanish breeds but don't get much membership from Spanish breeders. He said they fly judges over quite often from Spain. I can't say who's to blame. Maybe its a cultural thing. But it's true, for whatever reason, as a whole, most of the American Pouter clubs don't cater to the Spanish breeds.

I have had my fill of starting national clubs. I started the Flying Oriental Roller Society and I am fed up with the politics. It's especially bad if you make a push to make a big club right away, because you get so many people that fight over the steering wheel. We are up to about 80 members in two plus years. If it started small like the Horseman club, that might be the way to go.

Maybe the way to go is to start here with this forum and skip the politics, the dues, the expenses, the officers all that and just make it a simple internet club. Maybe someone could make a website too?
