The Disaplinados are Spread Blue Faded. The Rosados are Ash Red Faded. The reason you rarely see an obvious straight ash red is that the Faded is linked to the Ash Red. This lets the Blues and browns segregate out. The Jasmins are pure for Faded, either Blue or Ash Red. I don't know that I have seen one yet that's Spread Ash Red Faded, but they must be there. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Gaditano)Sat, 09 Jul 2011 11:25:08 +0000 Re: Spanish Color Chart Projecthttps://bpoutersandcroppers.runboard.com/p3007,from=rss#post3007https://bpoutersandcroppers.runboard.com/p3007,from=rss#post3007That is a black and a disaplinado. I would try the disaplinado with a rosada. But you might have to go disaplinado with a blue bar to get black... I just don't know. That pair produced one bird for me so far this year, a black.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Gaditano)Thu, 14 Apr 2011 19:12:04 +0000 Re: Spanish Color Chart Projecthttps://bpoutersandcroppers.runboard.com/p3006,from=rss#post3006https://bpoutersandcroppers.runboard.com/p3006,from=rss#post3006Ok Alan so I read through the post and im still not sure how to breed the colors I want? If it don't and this Jiennense does, I would think that would be proof he is Faded. But do the flecks on Faded birds get greater with age as they do on Almond and Qualmond? nondisclosed_email@example.com (Gaditano)Mon, 22 Mar 2010 13:48:34 +0000 Re: Spanish Color Chart Projecthttps://bpoutersandcroppers.runboard.com/p2404,from=rss#post2404https://bpoutersandcroppers.runboard.com/p2404,from=rss#post2404I've never seen any that did, I suppose it is possible though. I think you will have to segregate the spread factor out to make Faded easier to identify if it is there. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Glassfeather)Mon, 22 Mar 2010 09:05:39 +0000 Re: Spanish Color Chart Projecthttps://bpoutersandcroppers.runboard.com/p2398,from=rss#post2398https://bpoutersandcroppers.runboard.com/p2398,from=rss#post2398I guess you would have to look at a brown of a breed that's homozygous for pearl eye to see one for sure. The rosado hen has the faded gene on her x chromosome, along with the ash red gene, they are linked quite closely. Half of the sons from this pair will inherit the hen's x chromosome with the same alignment, ie faded linked to ash red, and the cock's x chromosome with the brown gene on it. These cocks have the potential to recombine brown and faded, but it will take a crossover, and I think Quinn suggested a 2% crossover rate between these loci. That's 2 in every 100. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Glassfeather)Sun, 21 Mar 2010 15:21:08 +0000
