2009 Show Season
Where do you plan on showing your Pouters this show season?
I have a 3 or 4 young Horseman that I plan on taking to the Pageant of Pigeons and I am also considering taking them to the Great Western in Gilroy.
The Great Western is October 17th and 18th
The Pageant is in November 19-21 ?.

Re: 2009 Show Season
Mike Hughes usually brings his show team of Horseman to the Pageant... I don't know about the Great Western.

Re: 2009 Show Season
Showing Gaditanos:
I'll be at county, state, Tucson Pigeon & Poultry Fall show and ending with the Annual AZ State Winter Show.
I'm hoping Alan will show in Tucson, even if his birds whip mine!
I doubt I'll make it to the Pageant, unless my birds can hitch a ride with somebody.
Would love to do the Nationals since it's in Utah in January, but I can't leave that long due to freezing weather. Gary do I have my month correct?

Re: 2009 Show Season
Since you are showing at the Tucson Pigeon & Poultry show, I may show there too. T I think your birds are up in quality. You don't have to worry about mine whipping yours. Besides, the training and preparation has as much to do with it as the quality of the birds

Re: 2009 Show Season
Yep! The National is in Utah in January. Too cold for this old desert rat.

Re: 2009 Show Season
Brandee or Alan,
What are the dates for the Tuscon show. I might be able to arrange a Phx trip around the same weekend. I won't have any birds, but it would be nice to see those that are showing.

Re: 2009 Show Season
It's Thanksgiving weekend. A big draw back for the show. But it still draws a huge turn out for all us die hards as it's a poultry & pigeon show. I believe in poultry there's about a 1000 entries & pigeons sit around 250. Alan correct me if I'm wrong with those #s.
I raise all kinds of birds, so I really love this show! Plus, I get to see my friends in the hobby, in Tuscon, once a year!
It's a long drive if we bring our geese, never knew just how much waterfowl could smell with the heat blasting!!!!

Re: 2009 Show Season
Yes, it's Nov. 27-28-29.
You are right about the numbers. And it's a fun show.
Mike Hughes usually shows here. Last year he brought a lot of Horseman, some English and some Voorburg. He won best of show with an English.

Re: 2009 Show Season
Thanks for the info. Sounds like it is a fun show. It's too late in the year for me to get the company to pay for a trip so I will probably only be able to look at pics online. Make sure you post them.
