Re: The dive of the Voute Much as most Iranian HFs do. Spiral up right above the loft. Have you ever been UNDER a Voute dive? It is spectacular. The Iranian HFs I once had were HFs primarily, but some did that butterfly, spin in place roll, which was fun to watch. They would begin the fly with a gradual spiral upward, would then stop and fly in place briefly, do some spins, then start the spiral upward, repeating the stops, spins a few times, until they were tiny spots in the sky. In the meantime the other IHFs were already at that level. They would start down, followed by the butterfly flight gang. Slowly spiraling down, stopping to fly in place and roll, then continue on down. They were easy marks for Cooper's hawks, falcons, and a few Harris hawks.
